Evaluation

My choices were all based around my target market and a black, white and red colour scheme. The questionnaire I produced helped me to decide what I wanted my final cover to look like. The use of black white and red made my cover appeal to both a male and female target market and also the use of a student on the front made it look like a college magazine, although my student wasn’t in uniform (being part of the 6th form).

I used the colour scheme of black, white and red because those 3 colours together are very bold and striking. I also used them because I was designing a magazine for Neale-Wade and they are the colours they use.

The font I used was a simple but very bold font. It had many lines through it to represent someone doodling/colouring to fit in with the theme. The font was a large size and was across the very first section of the route of the eye to catch people’s attention.

My main headline was about a 6th-form student running a new learning scheme for 11-16 year olds and that is why I used a picture of a 6th form Student on the front cover.

If I was to design the cover again I would use a different colour scheme because I feel it could be even more striking. I would also change the main storyline and use a picture of a student actually wearing school uniform as I feel it would make the cover look more appropriate for the genre used.
