Conventions

Cover;
·         A main image of something that will entice the target audience.
·         Cover line to tease people as to what is in the magazine.
·         Issue number.
·         Relevant cover lines.
·         An ordered layout with minimal amounts of cover lines.
·         Colour scheme that makes the cover look vibrant and also colours that appeal to the target audience.
·         Price.
·         Logo/Masthead to provide an iconic look.
·         Barcode.
·         Pull quotes in the main article, sometimes used as the title.

Contents page;
·         Columns to allow readers to easily find what they’re looking for.
·          Images relating to the articles (minimal amounts).
  • Simple white background to emphasise what’s on the page.
  • Subheadings to arrange the articles.
  • Same colour scheme as front cover.

Double page spread;
·         Simple, white background.
·         A main image of the artist as the focus point of the page.
·         Personal and in-depth article.
·         Bold or different coloured text for the questions of an interview
·         Quote from the text (pull quote)
